Community Hours is a programme in which high school students are encouraged to volunteer their time and resources to support the less fortunate.
Students are required to do a certain number of hours per year depending on the grade they are in. Most schools start their community hours at grade 8.
Rays of Hope has opportunities to earn both active hours, which is actual volunteering (either visiting the centre and helping or making sandwiches) and passive hours, where goods are bought and donated, such as fruit or adult nappies.
