As part of its bid to address hunger in vulnerable communities across South Africa, the Do More Foundation partnered with Rays of Hope to help bring relief to the Alex community through the distribution of food hampers.

They recently donated 1,200 kgs of porridge and spice, which Rays of Hope was able to donate to the ECD (early childhood development) facilities it supports that were forced to close down for six months during the lockdown period, as well as our Gogos for Hope and Home Based Care programmes, and vulnerable families across Alex.

This donation is in addition to the whopping 50,000 eggs, 1,331 kgs of chicken spice and 1,132 kgs of chicken pieces that were donated by Do More during lockdown, which we were able to distribute as part of food hampers and make use of in our cooked meals for the vulnerable.

Rays of Hope is incredibly grateful to the wonderful people at Do More for their selfless dedication and for living up to their name – they really do Do More for Alex and the other communities they support.
