He who has health has hope; and he who has hope, has everything!

Being sick is bad enough when you can get to the doctor, but when you are poor, bed-bound and have limited people to care for you; then a visit from the HBC team can be life-changing. Every week the team visit the sick and dying in their shacks in Alexandra Township.  They provide advice, comfort and spiritual support, food, clothing, bed linen and household equipment.  They also repair and clean the shacks that the patients live in.

They visit anyone in Alex who is sick, particularly HIV/AIDS patients.  The team tries to get to know the patients, and to assist them with whatever their greatest needs are.  This often involves giving advice and encouragement to get medical help; sometimes it involves taking them to the clinic or calling an ambulance when they are very ill.  At the end of each visit the team pray with the patients and continue to visit until they are stable.

This programme has been running for over 10 years with dedicated caring volunteers.
