Home Visits & Practical Assistance

While most of the programmes involve children and young people, if we don’t ensure that the home that they return to, after being with Rays of Hope is working, then we are failing them.

In order to provide this support, several services are offered:

  1. Weekly home visits to get to know the family
  2. Understanding the sources of income for the family and assisting with birth certificate and ID applications to make grant applications possible
  3. Assisting with grant applications
  4. Skills development for out-of-work family members
  5. Providing a food hamper (only in desperate cases)
  6. Home assessments relating to possibly making minor repairs
  7. Organising family fun days so that the children and their family can have fun together!
Ways to partner with us:
  • Good second-hand donations of home items (beds, linen, pots & pans, crockery, etc.)
  • Assistance with funding for home repairs
  • Food hamper sponsorship (R550 per hamper to last an average family two weeks)
