Thank you for the amazing support we’ve received from individuals, corporates, and trusts. We really appreciate you partnering with us !
For 29 years Rays of Hope, a non-profit company (NPC) and Public Benefit Organisation (PBO) has been partnering for lasting change with the community of Alexandra, on the border of Sandton. We focus on Orphaned and Vulnerable Children; Education and Work readiness. Our aim is to move over 2,800 people in our seven programmes from vulnerability to independence. We have also partnered with over 30 local NGOs and 110 local businesses to build capacity and wider impact.
Since the start of the COVID-19 crisis, Alexandra has been massively impacted so Rays of Hope has been hard at work providing over 9,000 food hampers to vulnerable families across Alex as part of our #Hope4Alex campaign. Through the campaign, we have provided food to over 60,000 people.
Hope4Alex Phase 2
While the needs are still significant, Rays of Hope is embarking on #Hope4Alex Phase 2. This is an expansion on the work that we’ve been doing but includes more than just food.
We have identified five key community needs which will assist people in the next few months of the pandemic:
All of these services will be provided in partnership with our network of organisations across Alex.
To make our expanded offering possible, we still need YOUR SUPPORT so please consider further donations.
You can support us by:
- Sponsoring hampers at a cost of R700 each, which feed a family of 6 people for 3 – 4 weeks. Click here to see the contents of a hamper.
- Donating office furniture, carpets, plants, etc., so that we can equip our offices to best serve the community. Click here to see what we need.
All donations received from a company will be eligible for BBBEE points and a Section 18A certificate can be issued for cash donations.
Donations can be made into the Rays of Hope account:
