Itumeleng Sebata - Nhelo Manufacturing

Itumeleng’s story

Itumeleng runs a clothing business where she manufactures virtually anything to meet a client’s request – from a ball gown to a hoodie. She has been doing this for several years and currently employs three people.

The impact of COVID and the looting

“During lock down I started with making masks for kids and that is how I and my family survived lockdown”

The looting has made it very difficult to get fabric for her business. Some of her main suppliers were looted or burnt down.

“We currently employ three ladies who are the main bread winners in their families. One is a mother of two and we are afraid we might not be able to make salaries this month as we have to give some of the clients their money back.”

How you can help?

Itumeleng needs referrals to get her business up and running again, from corporate gear to tracksuits for working from home.

She also needs fabric, but this is dependent on the orders that she receives. Once she has an order, she will need to source the required fabric.

What Itumeleng needs:

  • Referrals
  • Money for salaries
