Lydia Molebatsi Tshabalala was born, raised, and attended school in Alex. Due to the support of family, friends and educators, she successfully completed a Teaching Diploma from the Johannesburg College of Education. She is currently working at Realogile high school as Head of the Life Orientation Department.

The school governing body awarded her the opportunity to lead the school as acting Deputy Head of school earlier this year. Lydia is involved in numerous social responsibility organizations such as Abuse Prevention and Training (ADAPT), Scripture Union, Peer Learner Education facilitator, the SRC, SANCA, and Columba 200 netball. Her devotion to Christ has been the foundation for her concern and subsequent action for the less fortunate. She believes that all children should be well fed, happy and brought up in a safe and clean environment, which is conducive to their overall well-being.
