Rose-Act has moved locations from Central Johannesburg College in Alex, where Rose-Act Saturday classes took place since Rays of Hope introduced the programme in 1991, to a more spacious location at Pholosho Primary School.

With SA lockdown restricting the number of people permitted to gather in one venue, Pholosho Primary offers a bigger space to not only promote safe distancing during classes, but to accommodate more Rose-Act learners per class than before. Thanks to the bigger classrooms, Rose-Act Saturday classes can now accommodate an additional 140 learners in two classes, which means that we now have just over 280 learners attending Rose-Act classes every Saturday, which is close to the pre-lockdown numbers.

The new location is also convenient for learners because it is located in the heart of Alex, as well as tutors travelling into Alex who have easy access to the venue from London Road.

The Rose-Act programme aims to give Alex learners in grades four to nine the opportunity to improve their skills in maths and English. Find out more, here.
