Sponsor a Child today – click here!
As one child sets off to school, dressed in a brand-new uniform, another asks for money at a traffic light. As one child awakes to an array of cereals before they set off for school, another has already been walking for hours to be on time. As one sick child is given instant medical attention, another dies in their mother’s arms because they arrived at a health clinic too late.
The children of this country may all have equal rights under the Constitution but the worlds they are born into and their access to opportunities remain tragically unbalanced. According to the World Bank, South Africa is the most unequal country in the world and that shows in the lives that some of our children lead. With your help, we can take meaningful steps to redress that inequality by enrolling the youth of Alexandra in the programmes that Rays of Hope offers.
Through Rays of Hope’s ‘Sponsor a Child’ initiative, you can assist children from the age of three to post-matric with five different offerings, based on their age. In each age group, a child receives a combination of learning and development services, psychosocial services, and family support. Whether you are a corporate or individual sponsor, your participation will play a vital role in every one of our children’s lives and help build a sustainable future for them.
Our sponsorship packages below outline what each child you sponsor would receive. The sponsorship amount is different for each group, based on the programme elements that are relevant for that age In all cases, you will sponsor a specific child and will receive a photo of “your sponsored child” as well as two reports during the year on his or her progress.
Become a sponsor today! Once you sponsor a child, you will receive regular updates on their journey. By partnering with Rays of Hope to brighten the future of children in Alexandra, you will help reduce the vulnerability that these young people face and be able to count yourself as part of the solution.
