Tamela helps bring lasting change to Alexandra Township
Rays of Hope recognises the collaborative efforts of the team at Tamela Capital Partners, a financial services company, and extends its gratitude to the business for donating time, care and funding to our various initiatives.
“Tamela first heard about Rays of Hope in 2019 when Ntombifuthi Booysen came for an interview and soon joined the team as a receptionist,” says Vusi Mahlangu, MD at Tamela. “Tamela got involved with Rays of Hope to enable it to continue with its objectives of making a difference in disadvantaged communities and providing opportunities that have a potential to change their lives.”
Since 2019, Tamela has provided Rays of Hope with support in many forms, including financial donations during Covid-19 and the lockdown, food parcels and sponsoring the organisation’s boys’ camp initiative. Mr Mahlangu adds that the company plans to provide long-term support to Rays of Hope through youth mentorship and work experience initiatives.
“We want to inspire young people to pursue their dreams, we understand how difficult the circumstances of life in townships can be. We want to show these young people that there is more to life and it is possible to overcome your circumstances with the right mindset and determination,” he adds.
